JULIA ZAUNER
Senior Project Director
Julia Zauner provides marketing and communication consulting with focus on planning and strategy, internet marketing, customer/member relations, internal communications and community relations. Julia has more than 25 years experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. For the ten years she has worked with a variety of clients, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and its National Program Offices. Her work for non-profit clients has included development of a business plan for the RWJF-funded Innovations in End-of-Life Care, an online journal; developed web marketing strategies for Last Acts, Center to Advance Palliative Care, and rwjf.org. She also developed an e-marketing strategy for a youth services organization. Work for her commercial clients has included search engine optimization strategy for a consulting firm, conference planning for a new professional association, project management for a pharmaceutical online training tool, and venture capital research for a health IT start-up. She has also conducted competitive analysis and formulated online marketing strategies for an agency that develops web sites for pharmaceutical products.
Throughout her career, Julia has worked with start-up organizations and new ventures. She enjoys the challenges of working in an undefined environment that is ready for innovation. She brings creative solutions to marketing challenges with a drive towards exceeding organization objectives. Prior to starting her own business, Julia worked at the Interactive Publishing Group of Dow Jones & Co as marketing communications manager. There she managed on-line media buying and creative for the newly-launched Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition. Before working for Dow Jones, Julia was with Disney Development Company, the real estate division of The Walt Disney Company. She was a member of the start-up marketing team that created Disney Vacation Club and developed many of the initial message strategies for the new business. She also directed company-wide communications programs for 15,000 Disney Vacation Club members, including the creation of communication standards and policies that assured consistency of message and image.
Julia is also a dedicated community volunteer. She is currently a member of the 2008 Class of Leadership Somerset. She has served on the Board of Directors of a number of nonprofit organizations including: Downtown Orlando Partnership; Harry P. Leu Gardens (Orlando, Florida); American Cancer Society (Orlando Chapter)’ Adult Literacy League (Orlando Chapter); International Association of Business Communicators (Orlando Chapter); Disney VoluntEars; Dr. Phillips YMCA (Florida); Community Vision Inc. (Osceola County, Florida); Montgomery Center for the Arts (New Jersey). She is actively involved as a volunteer for a number of local organizations including the Somerset County Business Partnership, Montgomery Township School District PTA and Girl Scouts of Rolling Hills Council.
